Have you heard about PSLF?

If you fall into one of the following categories, you may be eligible for the top programs offered!

Teachers

Loan Forgiveness Programs

If you're a teacher working for a public or private nonprofit school and have federal student loans, we have great news for you! The Department of Education has created a special program called Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Not only will you be able to apply for an Income Driven Repayment Program, but also apply to get student loan forgiveness after 120 qualifying payments (10 years).

Health Field

Loan Forgiveness programs available for Doctors, Nurses and more...

With medical field workers it’s most important to know what type of establishment you are working for. As long as your hospital or private practice is a publicly funded or a non-profit organization, you can too apply for both Income Driven Programs and PSLF, which is normally the best scenario one could achieve.

Law Enforcement

Special programs available for Law Enforcement employees

Law Enforcement officers can benefit from Income Driven Programs as well as Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) which may significantly reduce the total student loan payback. Depending on a few factors, some Law Enforcement officers don’t pay a dime towards their student loans and get them completely forgiven after 10 years of repayment.

Non-Profit

Special programs available for Non-Profit employees

Remember, it’s all about who you work for, not what you do! As long as you are officially employed by a non-profit or tax exempt organization, you can apply for PSLF program as well and get your student loans forgiven after 120 eligible payments (total 10 years) under one of the Income Driven repayment programs.

Large Families

Financial relief for large families

Department of Education not only considers your family’s income when calculating Income Driven payments, but also your family size. The larger the family that lives with you and dependent on you, the smaller your monthly payment should be. These are not necessarily people that you claim as dependents on your Tax Return. They simply need to live with you and receive 50% or more of their income from you.

Unemployed

Financial relief for the unemployed

If you're struggling to find employment and you have student loan payments due, you may apply for an Income Driven Repayment, in which your payment could be as low as $0.00. Once you find that job, your payment shouldn’t increase to more than about 10% of your check, which, for most, can be a lifesaver.
